E-Flute Cardboard

Cardboard is the original “green” material. It is inexpensive, readily available, and best of all, cardboard is 100% recyclable!

Compared to petroleum and plastic based substrates, cardboard is relatively inexpensive. The manufacturing process is much simpler and mostly consists of post consumer waste. Because of its ubiquitous nature, it is readily available in almost any size and quantity from a large number of suppliers. Best of all, cardboard is 100% recyclable. It doesn’t need any special treatment for recycling. Just separate the cardboard from the rest of your trash.

All of our Durst Rho digital screen printers use UV inks. These inks do not hamper the recyclability of the cardboard, making their paring with cardboard materials a win-win solution. The types of cardboard we print on are: B Flute, C Flute, E Flute, and Cardstock.

  • B Flute is a 1/8” thick cardboard with 49 flutes (the number of supporting ridges) per foot. B Flute is more puncture resistant and uses less space than the other fluted types of cardboard. B Flute is ideal for stand up displays.
  • C Flute is 11/64” thick and has 41 flutes per foot. It is a very strong cardboard that is usually used for shipping boxes. This makes C Flute perfect for “stacked” displays or displays used to hold products.
  • E Flute is 1/16” thick and has 95 flutes per foot. It is lightweight, has a high quality printing surface, making it perfect for most other display applications. It is also easily die cut.
  • Cardstock is paper stock that is thicker and stronger than normal paper, but is thinner and more flexible than other types of cardboard. Cardstock is ideal for mounted or framed graphics.
Since 2004, WEA Corp and its parent company, Warner Music Group, have been industry leaders for their progressive and comprehensive environmental initiatives. Most recently, WEA Corp was recognized for its WMGreen campaign when it received the inaugural Green Award for environmental responsibility from the National Association of Recording Merchandisers.

For several years, Graphic Systems has printed the majority of WEA’s in-store graphics on environmentally-friendly E Flute cardboard. We are proud to support WEA’s environmental efforts and we would like to do the same thing for you. Our cardboard print products are 100% recyclable and are ideal for most print solutions.
